The Luau is the biggest event of the summer in Stardew Valley, and contributing to the Luau potluck is your chance to earn friendship points or cause mayhem. Players can add their own ingredients to the soup to make a delicious friendship-winning meal, a foul concoction, or something in between.
The Luau takes place on the beach on Summer 11 between 9 AM and 2 PM. With the right ingredients, the potluck can be a great friendship booster, raising your friendship with the people of Pelican Town, including Stardew Valley’s bachelors and bachelorettes. A good general rule of thumb is that more profitable and higher-quality items get better responses when added to the potluck. However, there are exceptions.
Stardew Valley: 10 Best Items To Sell & Make Money
Stardew Valley players can produce lots of profitable items on their farms. Among the best items to make and sell are rare crops and Artisan Goods.
What To Add To The Luau Potluck In Stardew Valley
The potluck is judged by the governor, and according to the official Stardew Valley Wiki, your character can gain or lose friendship points depending on his reaction. The following items give the best response, which earns you 120 friendship points with everyone who attends:
Quality |
Items |
---|---|
Silver |
|
Gold/Iridium |
|
Many of these items, including Stardew Valley’s Legendary Fish and Artisan Goods, won’t be available in Summer, Year 1. Players must develop their skills before they can catch high-quality fish or craft equipment to process produce into Artisan Goods. Farm animals and buildings are costly investments, and it’s unlikely that players will obtain high-quality items from them before Summer 11.
If you’re aiming for the best result from your first Luau, focus on growing Cauliflower, which is one of the best crops for spring. Use Fertilizer, which improves your chances of obtaining silver and gold-quality crops. You should also be able to grow a gold-quality cauliflower for the potluck.
What Not To Add To The Luau Potluck In Stardew Valley
Some items lead to a negative response from the governor, and you can lose up to 100 friendship points:

Knowing what items to include and what to avoid is crucial. Ideally, you should aim for the governor’s best reaction every Summer, earning you lots of hearts from the good people of Stardew Valley.
